‘FBI’ Confirms a Major Character Exit Ahead of Season 8

The past year has brought major changes to Dick Wolf’s FBI franchise. While the flagship show (FBI), starring Missy Peregrym and Zeeko Zaki, remains steady and will return for Season 8 on Monday, October 13 at 8 PM, CBS has canceled both spinoffs, FBI: International and FBI: Most Wanted, in a surprising move.

Season 8 of FBI will see more cast shifts. Emily Alabi, who played Dani Rhodes and partnered with Stuart Scola (John Boyd) following Tiffany Wallace’s (Katherine Renee Kane) departure, will be leaving the series. Alabi joined in Season 7 but will wrap up her character’s arc early in Season 8. Her exit leaves Scola once again without a consistent partner.

In her place, Law & Order: SVU alum Juliana Aidén Martinez joins the main cast as a new series regular, though details about her role remain under wraps.

Beyond casting changes, the FBI universe is expanding. A new spin-off titled CIA is in development, starring Tom Ellis as a rogue CIA officer working alongside a by-the-book FBI agent. Originally set for fall, the show will now premiere mid-season with SVU veteran Warren Leight stepping in as showrunner.

The FBI franchise is clearly evolving—but far from slowing down.
