A routine stop in Leon Springs, Texas, turned frightening for Noemi Moreno when two masked men ambushed her after she withdrew cash from a bank. As she stepped out of her car, they grabbed for her purse and pulled her to the ground — an experience she says left her constantly on alert.
Her cries alerted the family pit bull, Rambo, who rushed toward the attackers, barking and charging until they dropped the purse and fled to their SUV, even leaving behind a shoe. Moreno believes she was targeted because of the cash and says Rambo likely prevented something much worse.
The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office is investigating, and surveillance footage has been turned over to authorities. As Moreno recovers, Rambo is being praised as a loyal protector and unexpected hero who defended his owner when she needed it most.
