She was simply cleaning her boat when she discovered a message that had been waiting nearly a century to be found. 🌊🍾
In June 2021, Jennifer Dowker, a boat captain in Cheboygan, Michigan, was underwater cleaning the glass-bottom windows of her tour boat when she spotted a small green bottle resting on the riverbed.
Inside was a handwritten note dated November 1926. It read: “Will the person who finds this bottle return this paper to George Morrow, Cheboygan, Michigan, and tell where it was found?” 📝
Jennifer shared photos of the discovery online, hoping to find out who had written it. Soon, strangers began helping her track down the family.
Then, on Father’s Day, she received a call that brought the mystery to life. ❤️ George Morrow’s daughter, Michele Primeau, then 74, recognized her father’s handwriting.
George had passed away in 1995, but his family remembered how much he loved leaving little notes in unexpected places. Somehow, this one had remained at the bottom of a Michigan river for 95 years before finally being discovered. 🥹💌
A simple message from the past found its way back to the family who had been missing its author for decades.
Sometimes, even after all those years, a message still finds its way home. 💛
