Jamie Lee Curtis breaks down in tears when speaking of Charlie Kirk

Charlie Kirk’s death has left many scarred, including celebrities who have spoken out about the horrifying murder. On Monday, actress Jamie Lee Curtis appeared on the WTF with Marc Maron podcast and broke down in tears when speaking about the late conservative media pundit.

Charlie Kirk is set to be laid to rest on September 21. A memorial was held for him at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC. over the weekend, and millions have mourned and honored him nationwide.

While not all agreed with Charlie Kirk’s oft-strong opinions, the fact that he was slain in the middle of an open discussion is a tragedy that should disturb the left and right equally.

On Monday, actress Jamie Lee Curtis appeared on the WTF with Marc Maron Podcast, where she broke down in tears over the horrifying murder of Kirk. While the Freaky Friday star admitted she disagreed with Kirk “on almost every point I ever heard him say,” the killing had affected her fundamentally.

“I’m going to bring something up with you just because it’s front of mind,” Curtis said, per TMZ. “I disagreed with him on almost every point I ever heard him say, but I believe he was a man of faith.”

Jamie Lee Curtis’ voice changed in emotion before continuing: “I hope in that moment when he died that he felt connected to his faith. Even though I find his ideas were abhorrent to me, I still believe he’s a father and a husband and a man of faith, and I hope whatever connection to God means that he felt it.”

Through tears, Jamie Lee Curtis spoke of 9/11 and the videos of Kirk getting shot, both of which have been published on social media.

“Yesterday [on 9/11], we watched again these images of those buildings coming down. … Today, we as a society are bombarded with imagery. So we don’t know what the longitudinal effects of seeing those towers come down over and over and over and over again, or watching his execution over and over and over again,” she said, before returning to the videos of Kirk’s death.

“We don’t know enough psychologically about what that does. What does that do? That kind of — I don’t ever want to see this footage of this man being shot.”

Rest in peace, Charlie Kirk.
