He faked being sick to watch a football match… but forgot one tiny detail: the cameras were watching! In January 2025, 9-year-old Sammy Scott skipped school to travel to London with his dad and watch Newcastle United face Arsenal in the Carabao Cup semifinal.
Everything was going perfectly until Newcastle scored!
As Sammy jumped up to celebrate Anthony Gordon’s goal, the live TV cameras caught his priceless reaction during Newcastle’s 2–0 victory.
Friends and family quickly recognized him, and soon his school discovered where their supposedly “sick” student had really been.
The school later emailed his family and recorded the day as an “unauthorized absence” after seeing the televised footage.
Imagine getting caught skipping school by a live TV broadcast!
Nice try, Sammy… but the cameras had other plans!
