Hidden beneath the bed, I found a weathered wooden box filled with colorful paper cranes, each carrying a handwritten note from my daughter. Her words revealed quiet loneliness, love for our family, and hopes she had never shared aloud. Beneath the cranes lay a diary filled with sketches reflecting both creativity and isolation. The final entry read, “I felt alone, but I also felt loved.” My husband and I wept as we discovered the emotions she had carried in silence. We chose to keep the box close, honoring her memory with understanding, gratitude, and the enduring love she left behind.
