Creepy “House Rules” People Faced When Visiting Others

Every family has its own set of rules, which is why people often say, “My house, my rules.” Parents usually set basic rules like keeping kids from touching electrical outlets, reminding them to brush their teeth, or sharing toys with siblings. These basic rules help with safety, health, and social skills. But sometimes, parents make extra rules that seem a bit extreme.

The Story:
I was 14 and visiting my friend. I got my period and went to the bathroom to change my pad. I wrapped it in toilet paper and threw it away. The next day, my friend told me her mom had gone through the trash, found my wrapped pad, and thought it was hers! My friend got in trouble for it, and 15 years later, I’m still confused.
