Authorities Rescue 60 Missing Children During ‘Operation Dragon-Eye’

In a landmark operation hailed as the most successful of its kind, the United States Marshals Service (USMS) led a major effort to locate critically missing children across Florida. Named Operation Dragon-Eye, the two-week mission spanned Hillsborough, Pinellas, and Pasco Counties, resulting in the safe recovery or location of 60 children, aged 9 to 17.

The operation was a collaborative effort involving the USMS and multiple federal, state, and local agencies. What made Dragon-Eye unique was its holistic approach—not only were children recovered, but they also received physical and psychological care, along with long-term support services.

According to U.S. Marshal William Berger, these were children at high risk of harm due to exposure to violence, exploitation, or unsafe environments. Eight arrests were made during the operation, with some suspects facing serious charges for knowingly harboring minors.

“This was more than law enforcement—it was about protecting our children,” said Deputy Mario Price. Agencies like the St. Petersburg Police Department and Tampa Police joined in, emphasizing the importance of teamwork.

Operation Dragon-Eye stands as a powerful example of coordinated action, showing that with commitment and collaboration, vulnerable children can be rescued, supported, and given a chance to heal.
