He followed the bear into the woods, shouting and flashing his light, but nothing worked. Finally, he used his last resort. It was enough. The bear dropped the cat and fled, and the terrified pet ran into his arms. By morning, he was all over the news—hero to some, controversial to others. But the owner said only, “He did what he had to do.”
