Carrie Underwood has embraced country living with deep passion and purpose. After marrying former NHL player Mike Fisher in 2010, the couple purchased 400 acres in Franklin, Tennessee, where they built their dream homestead. Over the years, Underwood developed a green thumb, calling her garden one of her “happy places” for reflection and peace.
The property now includes a greenhouse, orchard, chicken coop, and horse stables. The family raises chickens, grows a wide variety of fruits and vegetables, and even keeps bees. In 2023, Underwood expanded her gardening efforts with help from Epic Gardening, proudly sharing her obsession with sustainable living. “My goal is to not buy food from the store anymore,” she stated.
Meals often feature produce from their land and meat from Fisher’s hunts. Tomatoes, squash, beans, and peppers thrive under her care. Waste is composted or fed to animals, and the entire family participates in the organic lifestyle—though her sons remain skeptical.
Their journey hasn’t been without hardship: Underwood endured several miscarriages and a serious fall before their second son, Jacob, was born in 2019. But their faith, resilience, and commitment to self-sufficiency have turned their land into more than a home—it’s a sanctuary.
