Hero Dad Left Gut-Wrenching Voicemails for His Kids Before Vanishing in Texas Floods

Texas Father’s Final Voicemails Reveal Heroic Last Moments Amid Deadly Flood. During a deadly flood in Kerrville, Texas, 61-year-old Jeff Ramsey and his wife Tanya, 46, were swept away when rising waters engulfed their trailer at HTR RV Park. In his final moments, Jeff left heartbreaking voicemails for his children, Jake (24) and Rachel (23), saying he loved them and didn’t think they would survive.

“You never heard this guy panic,” Jake said, recalling the fear in his father’s voice. One voicemail to Rachel included rushing water and Tanya’s screams: “We’re dying, we’re dying!”

Tragically, the emergency alert to evacuate arrived just as Jeff was recording his final message.

In a final act of bravery, Jeff called Tanya’s brother and mother to warn them, giving them enough time to escape. “He saved their lives,” Jake said.

Tanya, who had been battling breast cancer, was remembered for her strength and the deep love she showed Jake and Rachel, even though she wasn’t their biological mother.

Jeff, a kind man who worked at a local gym, believed in helping others. The community now remembers both Jeff and Tanya for their love, courage, and sacrifice during their final moments.
