A notable economist from Wall Street, who had criticized President Trump’s tariffs earlier this year, now asserts that the president may have “outsmarted all of us” with his contentious trade policies.
Torsten Sløk, the chief economist at the investment firm Apollo Global Management, indicated that although the uncertainty surrounding trade policy has begun to impact the economy, Trump might reduce tariffs on the majority of the US trading partners while utilizing the levies to enhance federal revenue.
In a recently published analysis, Sløk proposed that the administration’s strategy may be more calculated than previously assumed.
This optimistic perspective sharply contrasts with his earlier stance.
