If You Spot A Home With A Star On It, Here’s What It Means⬇️

**Note:** This story was originally reported in January 2021.

In late 2020, a viral rumor claimed that five-pointed stars on homes signaled that the occupants were “swingers.” However, there’s no truth to this. These stars, often called *barn stars* or *Amish stars*, are traditional decorations rooted in Pennsylvania Dutch heritage. Historically, they symbolize good luck, protection, and cultural pride.

The myth likely began with an old internet post but has no basis in fact. While barn stars vary in color and meaning, they are purely decorative and reflect American folk art traditions—not hidden messages or alternative lifestyles.

In short, these stars represent tradition and charm—not secret codes.
