Minneapolis | Plane crashes into home

The small executive transport plane, capable of carrying six passengers, crashed into a home around 12:20 p.m. local time, igniting a fire.

A U.S. Bank executive is presumed to have died after a small plane crashed into a home in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, on Saturday afternoon.

The aircraft was registered to Terry Dolan, U.S. Bank’s vice chair and chief administration officer. “The medical examiner’s office has not yet confirmed whether he was on board, but we believe he was,” the statement read.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with him, his family, friends, and all those affected by this tragic incident,” the bank added.

The aircraft was en route from Des Moines International Airport in Iowa to Anoka County-Blaine Airport in Minneapolis.

Brooklyn Park Fire Chief Shawn Conway confirmed at a Saturday news conference that there were no survivors. Preliminary findings indicate that only one person was aboard the plane.

A resident was inside the home at the time of the crash. He managed to escape unharmed, Conway said Sunday. The house was completely destroyed.

Officials will examine multiple factors that could have contributed to the crash. Including weather conditions, the pilot’s experience, the aircraft’s status, and its maintenance history, he added.
