9-Year-Old Boy Dies on His Way to School – What Happened?

A tragic incident occurred on April 4, 2025, when nine-year-old Gabriel Andrews lost his life after being swept away by floodwaters while en route to his school bus stop in Frankfort, Kentucky. Just nine days after celebrating his birthday, Gabriel fell into a drainage channel that had become inundated due to heavy rainfall. His body was discovered approximately two hours later, half a mile from the location where he was last seen.

The community, along with school personnel and emergency responders, expressed profound grief over his passing. His teacher remembered him as a cheerful and kind-hearted student with a passion for basketball and police cars.
