The Stranger Who Saved Us… Then Appeared on the News
Years ago, our car died on a dark road at 2 AM. No phones, no traffic—just silence. After an hour, a young college student pulled over and kindly offered us a ride to town. We offered him money. He smiled and said, “Happy to help.”
We never forgot his kindness.
Years later, my wife called me in tears: “Turn on the news.”
There he was. The same face, older—now a wanted man arrested after a string of roadside robberies. He’d preyed on stranded motorists for years… but he hadn’t harmed us.
To this day, we don’t know why. Maybe we weren’t alone. Maybe we showed him kindness. Maybe it just wasn’t our night.
That encounter taught us a powerful lesson: trust cautiously, be grateful fiercely, and never underestimate how unpredictable people—and fate—can be.
