Clooney broke his silence on Presley’s passing Saturday, saying, “It’s the worst thing that could ever happen to a family.” George and Amal joined Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber in Los Angeles after learning that their son Presley had died, and they’re reportedly helping with arrangements while taking turns being with the family so they aren’t alone.
A source close to Crawford described George as “family” and said he’s long been close to both Presley and his sister, Kaia. George and Rande are also longtime business partners through the Casamigos tequila brand.
Presley died on Sept. 20 following an apparent overdose and cardiac arrest. Santa Monica police records show an overdose call that morning at a facility in the Santa Monica area; the dispatch also noted cardiac arrest.
Presley had spoken publicly about his mental health and addiction recovery. On the Studio 22 podcast in 2023, he said: “Having struggled with mental health, depression and some other things that come along with that, I think that whether I help one person or a hundred people get out of that place that I was in at one point in my life, that’s all I need to do.”
