In November 2022, 18-year-old Kaylin Fiengo was found fatally shot inside her car at Coastline Park in Sanford, Florida. Prosecutors said Kaylin was pregnant and had refused to terminate the pregnancy.
Evidence presented at trial included messages showing Donovan Faison’s anger over the pregnancy, including a message in which he said he would “crop her out.” Prosecutors argued that Faison lured Kaylin to the park before shooting her.
Faison, who was 23 at the time of his conviction, was found guilty in October 2025 of first-degree murder, killing an unborn child, and burglary with a firearm.
An 11-1 jury vote recommended the death penalty, and on December 5, 2025, a Seminole County judge sentenced Faison to death for Kaylin’s murder and the death of her unborn child. He also received life in prison without parole for the burglary conviction.
