Michael Bolton, the legendary singer known for his powerful ballads, is facing a serious health battle. On April 30, 2025, his daughter Taryn revealed that Bolton had been diagnosed with glioblastoma, a rare and aggressive brain cancer. The family first noticed signs on Thanksgiving 2023, when Bolton showed unusual behavior—bowling out of turn and falling from his chair, which was highly uncharacteristic.
Initially, his daughters thought he was just exhausted from work, as he was busy touring and promoting a new album. But after he developed a severe headache, he went to the hospital, where doctors found a brain tumor. It was removed shortly after, and a week later, the tumor was confirmed to be glioblastoma.
Bolton informed fans in January 2024 that he would take a temporary break to focus on recovery. He has undergone surgery, and continues to receive radiation and chemotherapy. The disease affects his speech, memory, and balance, but Bolton remains optimistic. “Succumbing to the challenge is not an option,” he said.
He thanked fans for their support, saying it gives him strength every day. Despite the diagnosis, Bolton remains hopeful and determined, facing his journey with courage and grace.
