A series of eight mysterious deaths in New England over the past few weeks has fueled fears of a potential serial killer. Between March and April, the bodies of mostly women were discovered across the region, including in Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Rhode Island. One of the victims, a woman found unconscious on a Springfield bike route on April 22, was initially unresponsive when emergency responders arrived. Local authorities are investigating her death along with several others, but there are no confirmed connections between the deaths at this time.
Human remains have been found in locations such as Groton, New Haven, and Killingly in Connecticut, as well as parts of Rhode Island. While rumors of a serial killer have circulated, particularly on social media platforms like a Facebook group titled “New England Serial Killer,” authorities have downplayed these fears. Connecticut State Police have emphasized that there is no current threat to the public and no evidence suggesting the deaths are linked. Forensic experts are closely examining the cases, but so far, no definitive conclusions have been drawn regarding the causes of death.
