Actress Robin Wright reveals why she will never tire of hearing fans quote lines from Forrest Gump – as she makes her directorial debut

Robin Wright has revealed that no matter how many times fans quote lines from her iconic film Forrest Gump to her, she never tires of hearing them.

The actress, 55, starred as Jenny Curran, the love interest of the titular character, played by Tom Hanks, in the iconic 1994 drama.

She told Stellar Magazine on Saturday, her ‘two classics’, 1987 romantic drama The Princess Bride and Forrest Gump, get fans the most excited.

‘I always get lines thrown at me from those movies, and it just warms the heart,’ she told the publication.

‘Because those movies are going to go down in history. And how wonderful that I am part of it,’ she added.

Before the pandemic struck, Robin completed principal photography on her first directorial feature film, Land.

In the film, she directs herself in a drama about a bereaved woman seeking a new life off the grid in Wyoming.

The cast includes Kim Dickens, Demián Bichir and Warren Christie, but the film’s release remains unclear given the ongoing health crisis.

Previously, she made her first forays behind the camera during production on Netflix’s House of Cards, helming ten episodes of the hit streaming show.

She told Stellar she was excited by the process of collaboration involved in directing on House of Cards, and ‘caught the bug’.

‘It’s so different to acting, which is a soloist act. You’re with yourself much of the time, rehearsing your lines by yourself, doing your written homework by yourself.

‘I just thought, “Wow, this is really so enlightening and invigorating, to work with all the department heads and their teams”‘ she said.
