❤️ When eight-year-old Wyatt Erber from Edwardsville, Illinois, entered a First Clover Leaf Bank scavenger hunt, he wasn’t looking for toys or prizes. He had something much more important in mind — helping his little neighbor. 🥹
Two-year-old Cara Kielty had recently been diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Her family was facing overwhelming medical expenses and had to take time away from work to care for her. 💔🏥
Wyatt decided that if he won the $1,000 grand prize, he would give the entire amount to Cara and her family. ❤️
He searched across town, followed all 20 clues and eventually won the competition. 🗺️🏆
But instead of celebrating his victory, Wyatt immediately handed the prize money to Cara’s mother. When she hesitated to accept money from a child, Wyatt asked a heartbreaking question:
“How much chemotherapy will $1,000 buy?” 💔
His incredible act of kindness touched people far beyond his hometown. 🌎❤️ Edwardsville Neighbors in Need stepped forward and matched his donation, while additional donations began arriving from people as far away as Canada. 🇨🇦
Wyatt was only eight years old, but his compassion inspired thousands. Sometimes, the biggest acts of kindness come from the smallest hearts. ❤️🫶
His story is a beautiful reminder that one child’s generosity can inspire an entire community to care.
