Oh, Lord have mercy… I had no idea

TikTok has sparked many viral trends, but vabbing—using vaginal secretions as perfume—might be the most shocking. Advocates claim it boosts attraction, but science says otherwise.

The idea stems from pheromones, chemical signals that influence behavior in animals. However, experts like Professor Erick Janssen and sex educator Edwina Caito argue there’s little evidence that human pheromones affect attraction. Instead, any perceived success may be due to the placebo effect—boosted confidence making people seem more attractive.

Beyond skepticism, hygiene concerns arise. Gynecologists warn that improper vabbing could introduce infections or spread STIs. Socially, reactions range from curiosity to outright disgust.

While TikTok trends come and go, science remains clear—vabbing is more wishful thinking than a proven attraction hack.
