Henry Winkler, beloved by millions for his role as Fonzie in Happy Days, had a difficult childhood. His immigrant parents, unaware of his dyslexia, often called him “Dummo Hund” (dumb dog), believing he was lazy because of his struggles with reading. This misunderstanding severely affected his self-esteem. Teachers also thought he was inadequate, but Winkler continued to pursue his dreams. He applied to 28 colleges and was accepted to Yale’s School of Drama, where his talent began to shine. Despite his dyslexia, which affected his reading and coordination, Winkler became a TV star. At 31, he discovered his condition after his son was diagnosed, realizing that he too had dyslexia. This revelation helped him understand his struggles and overcome them. Winkler’s determination and talent allowed him to achieve greatness, proving that with perseverance, you can overcome obstacles and succeed.
