Elvis Presley, known for revolutionizing music and his bold style, also left behind a lesser-known gem: his personal 1962 Lockheed Jetstar. The plane, which he customized to reflect his opulent taste, was recently sold at auction in Florida for $260,000 to an anonymous bidder, reportedly an Elvis enthusiast.
Once used by Elvis and his father, Vernon Presley, the jet had been grounded in Roswell, New Mexico for decades as a roadside attraction. Despite sitting unused since Elvis’s death in 1977, the plane has aged well.
Inside, the jet showcases Presley’s signature style with plush crimson velvet seats, wood-paneled walls, and a vintage TV set, creating a retro-luxury feel. A small kitchen in the back, complete with an old microwave, adds a personal touch, evoking the image of Elvis preparing his famous peanut butter, banana, and bacon sandwich.
