Despite her renowned beauty, some still refuse to acknowledge Melania Trump — why is that?

Melania Trump, known for her grace and elegance, was a model long before becoming First Lady — yet she’s never appeared on the cover of major fashion magazines like Vogue or Vanity Fair. Fans have noticed the omission, especially since Michelle Obama appeared on Vogue three times and Jill Biden twice in just four years. The closest Melania came was a 2017 Vanity Fair Mexico cover, but U.S. editions have avoided featuring her. Recently, Vanity Fair’s global editorial director reportedly suggested putting her on the cover — sparking backlash inside the magazine.

One editor even threatened to quit, saying, “We are not going to normalize this despot and his wife.” Commentators like Ingrid Jacques of USA Today argue this reveals a clear double standard. Even The New Republic, a liberal outlet, has admitted that Melania’s treatment differs sharply from that of other first ladies.

Melania, however, seems unfazed. A staff member told the New York Post she simply laughs off the “cover drama,” focusing on her own projects instead. Despite frequent criticism — from her accent to her demeanor — she reportedly speaks five languages and maintains a quiet independence.

Many conservative women see her exclusion as symbolic of broader media bias. Caroline Downey of the Independent Women’s Forum calls it proof that “conservative women are a special kind of pariah.” Regardless, Melania remains admired by millions who view her as a model of elegance, poise, and restraint.
