During his visit to Florida’s newly established “Alligator Alcatraz” detention center, President Donald Trump stated that he is contemplating the arrest and prosecution of Alejandro Mayorkas, the Secretary of Homeland Security under Biden, for his role in opening the border and allowing tens of millions of illegal immigrants to enter the United States.
These remarks were made as President Trump stood alongside Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) and the current Secretary of Homeland Security, Kristi Noem, at the new “Alligator Alcatraz” facility, which is designed to accommodate thousands of detained illegal immigrants in the alligator-infested Everglades, during a press conference following their tour of the facility.
On Tuesday, July 1, The Blaze reporter Julio Rosas inquired of the president whether Mayorkas would face arrest due to his management of the border, a sentiment echoed by many supporters of the MAGA movement who wish for the Trump Administration to take action. Rosas remarked, “I encountered former DHS Secretary Mayorkas and posed a few questions regarding his disastrous border management.”
Rosas further probed about the possibility of an arrest, noting that viewers of his video expressed a desire to see such an action taken, given Mayorkas’s poor performance in handling border issues. He stated, “He was not pleased with my inquiries, but the primary question I received from those responding to my video was, ‘Why hasn’t he been arrested yet?’”
