The internet is abuzz following the dismissal of progressive prosecutors who attempted to target President Trump, as an order from the Department of Justice disclosed that Attorney General Bondi had signed a directive removing them from their positions “effective immediately.” This development has led to conservatives celebrating online and commending the Trump Administration for preventing Jack Smith’s associates from remaining in the DOJ.
To provide context, on January 27, 2025, the Department of Justice sent a notification to a group of prosecutors who sought to leverage their authority to undermine President Trump while engaged in special counsel Jack Smith’s prosecutions of the president. In the correspondence, then-Acting Attorney General James McHenry expressed her belief that these prosecutors could not be relied upon to exercise impartial judgment in their duties due to their involvement in prosecuting the president during the Biden administration.
The notification, which was reportedly sent via email to the dismissed prosecutors, included a statement from President Trump, who remarked that the American people had “observed the previous administration conduct a systematic campaign against its perceived political adversaries… targeting those political opponents through investigations, prosecutions, civil enforcement actions, and other related measures.”
Expanding on President Trump’s remarks, Acting Attorney General James McHenry stated that this subversive behavior was never “more evident than in the unprecedented prosecutions… against President Trump himself.” Furthermore, AG McHenry addressed the prosecutors directly, asserting, “You played a significant role in prosecuting President Trump.”

Subsequently, AG McHenry contended that the prosecutors were unreliable, stating, “The effective operation of government fundamentally relies on the trust that higher officials place in their subordinates.” The acting attorney general further indicated that due to their prominent roles in the prosecution of the president, he did not believe the DOJ could depend on the prosecutors “to aid in executing the President’s agenda faithfully.”
In conclusion, AG McHenry referenced Article II of the Constitution, stating, “Your employment with the Department of Justice is hereby terminated, and you are removed from federal service effective immediately.” Following the release of the notice on X by conservative influencer Kambree, commenters expressed their approval, with user Paul Miller remarking, “Best news of the day,” while another user commented, “This is the only way to root out the traitors.”
Subsequent to the notice being issued, Fox News anchors provided their perspectives on the dismissals of the prosecutors. Correspondent Byron York characterized the situation as “an absolutely unique, unprecedented situation.” He further noted, “Until very recently, these lawyers were working to indict, to try, convict, and imprison the current president of the United States, and they were privy to the legal strategies of the prior administration to do that.”
York continued by asserting that, given their background, terminating the prosecutors was “a prudent idea,” and he added, “This is an extremely unique situation of people who are attempting to imprison the current president of the United States.” His remarks were subsequently shared on X by conservative influencer Mischief, who commented on the prosecutors, “At least they’ll be able to tell their children what it’s like to FAFO.”
