Trump’s health may prevent him from finishing term, advisor claims

President Trump has been declared in “excellent health” by White House doctors after an April 2025 checkup. At 78, he passed screenings for heart, lung, and brain health, and is said to be active, slimmer, and with improved cholesterol. However, critics remain unconvinced.

Rick Wilson, a Republican strategist and co-founder of the Lincoln Project, believes Trump is showing signs of cognitive decline, citing verbal confusion, lapses in thought, and behavioral changes. “He’s not the Trump of 2015, 2020, or even 2024,” Wilson said, warning that Trump may not be fit to serve another full term.

Despite the clean medical report, Wilson and others argue that test results don’t always reveal real-world cognitive issues, and Trump’s behavior raises red flags.

Journalist Timothy O’Brien added that Trump is reportedly haunted by his father’s dementia and may be driven more by fear than ambition in seeking office again.

While Trump’s 2025 report was more detailed than past ones, critics note that no new cognitive test results were shared beyond those from 2018. They argue that real signs of aging and decline are visible in public appearances — regardless of what the official reports say.
